I'm finding spending more time to complete a painting allows me to enjoy the process instead of painting something to quickly. This painting was done on 140lb paper, 8.5" x 11", using Daniel Smith watercolors, Derwent Intense colored pencils, and a little Schmincke gouache.

Giraffe WIP
I've been slowing working on this guy. I used Derwent Intense pencils, and Daniel Smith watercolor. Not sure what I'll do with the background.

Dasio Japan $1.50 store
While in the SF bay area I discovered this really cool Japanese store where everything is $1.50. This is my latest purchase--11 rolls of double sided tape, a plastic art box, big black clips, a pill box that I plan to use for watercolor palette, and small silver clips.
The Mixed Media Master Class book and Martha Stewart Living are from Joann's along with the bird paper clips.

Accordian Journal
I didn't intend to take such a long break, but I've been fighting this nasty Sinus infection for the past month and a half. After 3 courses of antibiotics, I think I might be on the road to feeling better.
Even though I haven't posted, I have been busy making journals and doing quick sketches.
I've been seeing those Moleskin Accordion journals and thought I'd try to make one. I used drawing paper for inside the journal and paper that I had bought in Florence, Italy for the front and back cover. For me the tricky part was getting the pages to line up. Once I got that figured out the rest was easy. My accordion measures 7"L x 5"W.

One watercolor a day-- food studies Day 7
Today I worked on painting vegetables. The only thing I had available to paint were some avocados. I'll probably do more food studies when I have some fresh veggies in the house.
